    Ellison traveling to Sudan

    WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., will be in Sudan tomorrow to talk with Sudanese officials about the humanitarian situation in Darfur, according to the Sudan Tribune.

    Ellison, who was the first Muslim elected to Congress and who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was arrested in April while protesting outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington. The protest was in response to the expulsion of aid groups from Sudan.

    According to the Sudan Tribune, Ellison will visit North Darfur and Juba, where he will also talk with southern Sudanese officials about implementing a peace agreement.
