ASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., who has taken an increasingly visible leadership role in the Republican Party this year, will deliver the national weekly Republican address Saturday.
Kline’s comments will touch on the health-care reform debate and will serve as the Republican response to President Obama’s weekly address.
“For the past few weeks, I have been meeting with hundreds of constituents and hearing from a variety of stakeholders in the health care debate,” Kline said in a statement. “Minnesotans -- like all Americans -- are anxious about the health care proposal being rammed through Congress and naturally have many unanswered questions.”
This year, Kline was selected to be ranking member of the House Education and Labor Committee, which has handled part of the health care legislation in the House.
