    Walz, McCollum want bills on Internet 72 hours before votes

    WASHINGTON, D.C. — Minnesota Reps. Tim Walz and Betty McCollum, both Democrats, joined 21 of their colleagues in a letter to House leadership today asking that legislation be made publically available on the Internet at least 72 hours before it is officially considered.

    “A transparent and open government ensures the public has an opportunity to participate in the legislative process,” Walz said in a statement. “As a representative of the people of southern Minnesota, it is important that I know how my constituents feel about proposed legislation.”
