Peterson, Oberstar campaigns donate to Grayson

By Cynthia Dizikes | Published Fri, Oct 16 2009 9:42 am

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On the last full day of the fundraising quarter, the campaigns of Minnesota Democratic Reps. Collin Peterson and Jim Oberstar donated $1,000 each to a Democratic congressman from Florida who has taken heat from the GOP for saying that the Republican health care plan is to “die quickly.”

According to The Hill, Rep. Alan Grayson raised more than $60,000 the day after his comments on the House floor. The Hill reported that most of the donations came from party leaders or chairmen like Peterson and Oberstar.

Other high-profile donors include House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland and Majority Whip Jim Clyburn of South Carolina.
