    On this Veterans Day

    On this day, politicians talk about the need for war,
    And young men, immortal in their minds, dream of glory.
    Old men, another year past, realize how much of life their comrades lost,
    While far away, as always, others yearn for home.

    MinnPost writer David Hawley was drafted in 1969, served two years in the Army and is a disabled veteran.
