National Dems target Bachmann's district as pickup opportunity
WASHINGTON — National Democrats, believing they have a pickup opportunity in Minnesota's 6th District, have added Tarryl Clark to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's Red-to-Blue list.
Clark, the DFL-endorsed challenger to Rep. Michele Bachmann, is one of 11 candidates who will be added to the list today. The DCCC's Red-to-Blue program functions as a who's who list of candidates the DCCC thinks have the organization and fundraising prowess to win a Republican-held or open seat.
Clark is the only Minnesotan on that list.
CQ Politics and the Cook Political Report both rate MN-06 as a "Likely Republican" hold, while Rothenberg Political Report has it as a "safe" seat. For both CQ and Cook, Minnesota's 6th is the only Republican-held seat on their radar in the Gopher State.

Am I the only guy that thinks focusing on Bachmann is a waste of resources, particularly when compared to taking on a freshman like Paulsen who's far more conservative than his district?
Shhh. Ik-snay on the Ast-Way.
I think the Democrat party has done a great job identifying an extremely vulnerable GOP candidate, and I hope they encourage the scary smart, reality based community to pour buckets, no, dump truck loads, of cash into Terryl Clark's campaign.
