WASHINGTON — Michele Bachmann will run for a GOP House leadership post, her office confirmed to MinnPost.
"Constitutional conservatives deserve a loud and clear voice within the GOP leadership and Congresswoman Bachmann will be the perfect voice for that," spokesman Sergio Gor said. "As we saw last night, Constitutional conservaitves are what the American people want, not more of the same party establishment."
Bachmann will be running for the House Conference chairmanship, a spot being vacated by Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, a fellow Tea Party Caucus member who's exploring potential bids for president and governor.
Bachmann will face competition for the post from at least one other member with close ties to the House GOP establishment. Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling has also declared for the post — and was quickly endorsed by would-be Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
Gor said the run is a run for the post, not one in opposition to Hensarling, whom he described as a good friend of Bachmann's.

Heaven help us.
How is she going to quit lying long enough to run for the job? Oh wait, she's going after a GOP House leadership position, she doesn't have to. For an example of her Munchkin reasoning, see her last tirade on Obama's supposed two-hundred-million dollar a day Asian trip. Where does this woman pack her brains? Maybe she is -- as Chris Matthews pointed out -- really hypnotized. She certainly looked like it that night
