Ed Morrissey, formerly the helmsman of Captain’s Quarters now a regular blogger for the righty team at Hot Air, was chosen the blogger of the year at the Conservative Political Action Conference over the weekend. Ed was introduced by remote video by Rush Limbaugh and then, after acknowledging his award, Ed got to introduce U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann to the wildly enthusiastic assemblage in Washington.

I know Ed a little. I find him smart, serious, friendly and honest. I’ve been a guest on his radio show. We had a couple of conversations about the Franken-Coleman recount and Ed ended up taking the politically incorrect position (in his circles) that Al Franken did not steal the election. (That didn’t stop him from mocking Franken during his acceptance speech for the blogger of the year, nor from gushing over Limbaugh and Bachmann and a few others who are not so intellectually honest as he is.

Hat tip to Let Freedom Ring, which also has video of Ed’s acceptance speech.

Congrats, Ed.

  1. Well… you know how it is. When you let guys like this take you to the party, you’ve gotta dance with the one(s) that brung you and hope that dancing is all they have in mind (why is the image of “Biff Tannen” from the first “Back to the Future” movie flashing in my mind?).
