Norm Coleman will speak to reporters outside his St. Paul home at 3 p.m.
This will be his first opportunity to say either that he is conceding the election, or that he is appealing the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court, although he could say neither of those things and and say he needs a a few days to study the ruling before deciding. My best guess, based on the totality of the Franken win in the court ruling, is that Coleman will concede, today or in the next few days, which will take the burden off Gov. Tim Pawlenty and the Senate Repub caucus to figure out whether to try to delay the certification and seating of Franken.
Al Franken will also speak to reporters at 4:15 outside his Minneapolis home. How that goes depends somewhat on what Coleman says, but Franken will certainly be happy about the ruling.
