Yes, there is another undecided race for Congress in which a Democrat clings to a small, ever-changing lead. But the recount in his one hasn't been going on as long, since it was touched off by a March 31 special election for the U.S. House seat from upstate New York's 20th Congressional district. The special was held to fill the vacancy created when the former incumbent, Kirsten Gillibrand, was appointed to the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Anyway, like another seat Minnesotans know about, the recount has been mostly about absentee ballots. In NY, they don't count them on Election Day, and there's a late deadline for incoming ballots from military personnel and others located overseas. So they're not done yet, and a strong Repub county and a strong Dem county haven't completed their absentee counting. But Dem political newcomer Scott Murphy led by 167 votes as of this morning. The lead shifted from Murphy to his Repub opponent, long-time state legislator Jim Tedisco, in early April, then back to Murphy on April 10 and he has widened it since.

Uber-political-number-cruncher Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com says Tedisco is close to being toast.
