This picture of Rosa Parks was created using photocopies of the Bible and layering the pieces. Lights were built into the frame behind the picture. This is a image of the picture when the lights are on.

A router and circular saw were used to grind away the unwanted wood, leaving only thin ridges of wood that remained stained.

"Daudi"
This image of Daudi, a boy living in Uganda, is made of graphite on Starbucks coffee cups. Proceeds from sales of this image go to helping poverty in Africa through World Vision. More information is available on Hansen's web site.

"Value of Blood"
Hansen's blood was used in this image of North Korean dictator Kim Jong II. The blood was "painted" on a canvas of 6,000 bandages.

"Bruce"
Hansen dipped his hands in paint and "chopped" at the canvas to create this image of Bruce Lee.

"1400 Celsius"
Hansen used 2-by-4 pieces of wood to create a house-like frame and a blowtorch to burn in the image of a firefighter. He organized the pieces of wood to create a solid mass so that the firefighter is only visible from one point of view.

As part of the "Giveaway Art" series, this drawing was a re-creation of American Gothic with Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante. There is an accompanying video that features an old-timey version of Snoop's "Drop It Like It's Hot."

This piece was created over a six-month period. The picture of President Bush was made with the names of coalition soldiers who had died in the Iraq war.
