The mission of GlobalPost is to provide Americans, and all English-language readers around the world, with high-quality original international reporting by more than 70 correspondents based in 45  countries.

A for-profit enterprise, in which employees and correspondents are shareholders, GlobalPost provides access to its stories at its own website, and it syndicates content to other publishers.

The stories are free for readers, but GlobalPost is offering a paid membership known as Passport, which gives members access to special additional content and also a voice in shaping what gets covered.
