    Latest statement about running for governor: In a surprise announcement Oct. 8, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman said at a news conference that despite exploring the possibility of a race, he would not be a candidate for governor so that he could concentrate on his race for re-election and on issues facing the capital city.
