Support MinnPost

Thanks, MinnPost sustainers, for your tremendous response so far

In the first two days of our inaugural drive for sustaining members, 87 people have signed on, bringing our total sustainer number to 117.

The contributions have ranged from $5 a month to $50 a month. Some people have chosen to give annually, and those contributions have ranged from $60 to $600 (a $300 gift with a $300 employer match).

Our goal is to have at least 250 sustainers by June 23. Whether you’ve never donated to MinnPost before, or you’re a regular supporter, please help us make and then beat the goal

In addition to the testimonials we’ve been featuring on our site, many more contributors have told us why they’ve become sustaining members, and we’d like to share some of what they’ve said.

Thanks, all, for your enthusiasm, and for backing up your words with meaningful financial support.

  • Doug Hoverson, Minneapolis: MinnPost has become an essential part of my day. I use it to teach, write, and navigate through the wilds of regional politics. The blend of topics and coverage is unmatched.
  • Barbara Luikens, Long Lake: I have been an annually renewing member since shortly after MinnPost was founded. I have come to really appreciate the intelligent, professional journalism on this site. I'm happy to support it on an ongoing basis.
  • David Koller, Minneapolis: I use MinnPost as my home page.
  • Benjamin Ashley-Wurtmann, St. Paul: MinnPost's coverage helps me do my job better.
  • Stuart Braman, Port Washington, NY: As a long-time member of the Minnesota diaspora it’s a treat to get an intelligent picture of what’s happening in Minnesota every day, and when I want thoughtful analysis and commentary on national topics (politics and healthcare especially) I turn to MinnPost regularly.
  • Teresa Fishel, St. Paul: I want MinnPost to succeed.
  • Randi Reitan, Eden Prairie: There is not a day that goes by that I don't read MinnPost. I am grateful and I want to support the important work they do.
  • Sylvia Burgos Toftness, Amery, WI: I'm a sustaining member because of MinnPost's high professional standards and ethics, up-to-date, interesting columns (REALLY miss Braublog), accessible wherever there's WiFi -- including my barn.
  • Luke Ferguson, Minneapolis: MinnPost provides me with in depth reporting for Minnesota politics and news that I just can't find anywhere else. I love the Daily Glean and read it every morning.
  • Penelope Hillemann, Northfield: I find consistent value in the skilled reporting and daily email updates from MinnPost and am happy to become a sustaining member, just as I subscribe to a daily print paper and to MPR.
  • Pam Neary, Afton: MinnPost is such a great resource, not only for local news, but for commentary and context. And, it often makes me laugh...a wonderful combination! Having witty, well-composed news and information seems like such a small thing, but MinnPost has taken a leap beyond the usual sources by creating a community of writers, thinkers and readers who care deeply about the world in which we live and, by doing so, seems to make the world a better place. Thanks for the morning pick-me-up every day.
  • Thomas O’Donnell, Burnsville: You have convinced me of your commitment to providing worthwhile news reporting. I am trying to show you my commitment as well to that endeavor.
  • John Bristow, Columbia Heights: Having recently discovered MinnPost, it is refreshing to find coverage digs beyond the claims of politicians. If something is untrue, MinnPost says so which is a relief from journalistic 'even handedness' which treats all opinions as equal no matter how false. Also, the general quality is superior.
  • Drs. David Griffin and Marjorie Hogan, St. Paul: We know that we can find insightful analysis with a local flavor here. And, MinnPost is the home of many of our longtime favorites along with new favorites!!
