Hang out with MinnPost at three special events

By Laurie Kramer | Published Mon, Jan 18 2010 9:30 am

Maybe all you’re thinking about is football.

But we’ve got three special events coming up -- and luckily none of them conflicts with the Vikings (or the Twins).

On Sunday afternoon, Jan. 31, journalists Eric Black and Susan Albright will be at Park Square Theatre for a MinnPost-sponsored performance of Tom Stoppard’s ROCK ’N’ ROLL. Editor Joel Kramer and ad director Sally Waterman will be there too. To get half price tickets, call 651-291-7005 and use the code MinnPostROCKS. Or use the same code for the same discount when you buy tickets online.

On Sunday afternoon, March 7, we’re sponsoring our first Book Club Blast. It’s for book club members, published and aspiring writers, and engaged readers. And it’s free. You can mingle with well-known writers (including lots of MinnPost journalists), meet other book lovers, laugh with featured speaker Lorna Landvik, enjoy a free nosh or buy a glass of wine, and have a great literary time. Space is limited so don’t procrastinate. Details here and registration here.

And save the date for MinnRoast 2010 -- our annual Fools of April fundraising event. More than 600 news junkies and newsmakers showed up in 2009, and we’re planning for 800+ this year. It’s scheduled for Monday evening, April 26, with the show at the Pantages Theatre and the reception next door at Seven. Invites will be mailed in March to all MinnPost donors. Inside MinnPost will be the place for MinnPost staff to talk about what's going on in our enterprise. We hope to engage in a conversation with our readers, with current and prospective members and advertisers, and others interested in our grand experiment in high-quality, not-for-profit local journalism. The blog will be coordinated by Joel Kramer, MinnPost's CEO and Editor, with frequent contributions from other staff members.
