    A new feature: MinnPost Asks

By Roger Buoen | Published Tue, Feb 9 2010 8:55 am

Today we’re introducing a new regular feature on MinnPost: short Q&As with people who have something to say that’s worth hearing.

Think of it as an “Inquiring minds want to know” for the MinnPost reader. We’re calling the feature MinnPost Asks.

In this occasional series we plan to interview a range of interesting and newsworthy people with some sort of connection to Minnesota. Most will be from our community, but some will be Minnesotans living and working elsewhere.

They might be well-known or unknown to most of us. People with high-visibility positions will be represented, of course, but we will also talk to individuals who don’t get a lot of publicity but who are leading rich lives and who have something interesting and insightful to say: the political operative who works behind the scenes of a campaign, the government employee following a social trend, the struggling artist who’s just getting noticed, the volunteer who helps out at a homeless shelter during cold winter nights.

Although the published interviews will be short, we hope you get a sense of the person’s world view, personal background, current life and opinions on news events.

So check out today’s first installment of MinnPost Asks — a Q&A with Minneapolis School Board member Chris Stewart, who’s decided not to seek another term.

And if you have any suggestions of others we should feature in MinnPost Asks, send me a note at rbuoen@minnpost.com with a few questions you’d like asked.

Roger Buoen is co-managing editor at MinnPost.
