    Growing a holiday tradition on a Minnesota tree farm

    Neil and Debbie Krueger have been growing Christmas trees on their family farm in Lake Elmo, Minn., for over 40 years. Krueger, a second-generation tree farmer, bought Sprucegate Farm from his grandparents and started planting trees his first year there. Krueger says since then it's become a family tradition for some customers who come back year after year to pick out and cut down their own tree. The Fraser Fir is their most popular tree, since it doesn't shed needles. When asked why grow trees for a living, the Kruegers say, "You have to love what you do to be a tree farmer. It's a wonderful life."
