    Let's hope your valentine doesn't walk down lovers' lane without you

    Here is a timely piece for Valentine's Day. One of the most famous female singing groups during World War II, the Andrews Sisters, were born and raised here in Minnesota and had many hit songs centered on life during wartime.

    Before making it big, the sisters -- Patty, LaVerne and Maxene -- almost moved back to Minneapolis to attend secretarial school, but after an appearance on a popular radio program, they finally landed a record deal.

    Here the sisters perform one of their songs, "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree," in the film "Private Buckaroo." Be sure to check out Patty Andrews' intense dance moves at: 2:23 min.
