    Pawlenty challenges Obama administration spending spree

    Gov. Tim Pawlenty appeared on CNN's "State of the Union" with John King Sunday. Perhaps setting himself up for a Republican presidential nomination, Pawlenty spoke strongly against President Barack Obama's proposal to spend about $1 trillion over the next 10 years for health-care reform.

    "I am very concerned on a number of fronts. One is the out-of-control, unsustainable, irresponsible level of federal spending and the debt and the deficite that is growing by the minute."

    High on the Pawlenty list of distress is an increasing pattern of government involvement in the private sector -- as has happened to the automobile and banking industries.

    Pawlenty also comments on damage done to his party from the recent illicit love affairs of two fellow Republican governors here.
