Timelapse: Creating a 50-foot singing garden in St. Paul

If you happened to walk by St. Paul’s Landmark Center this past weekend you might have noticed the 50-foot "Singing garden" on display. The exhibit was part of the Flint Hills International Children's Festival, a six-day festival of performing arts for children, supported by the Ordway. This video was shot over three days, May 26-28, 2009, with pictures taken one minute apart as volunteers set up 33,000 flowers, 20 speakers and tile mosaic benches. The "singing" comes from an excerpt of the vegetable orchestra created by sound artist Philip Blackburn with help from 9th-graders from Patrick Henry High School.
