    Minnesota ranks in the top tier on educational progress in math test

    Minnesota Department of Education Commissioner Alice Seagren shares the 2009 test results of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) for Minnesota public schools. NAEP results are based on tests of a sample of students in each state nationwide at grades 4 and 8. Students were tested in the areas of mathematics, reading, science, writing.

    Minnesota ranked No. 2 in the nation for eighth-grade math. State-by-state results are available on the National Center for Education Statistics website.
