A Minnesota fall apple harvest
By Tom Nehil | 10/08/12
A video by Leif Enger documents two standbys of fall in Minnesota: brilliantly-colored tree leaves and a bountiful harvest of apples:
First thing we did after moving to the farm in 1997 was plant a few apple trees. It's a tough life for a tender sapling — there's drought to weather, and disease, and the deer who drift up into the yard at dusk — but this little Haralred tree managed to reach maturity and in September gave us its first real harvest.
