Rumors are flying about our governor's potential presidential run. Supporters and critics have both been following his actions during this tumultuous legislative session.

MinnPost followers on Twitter, your task is to come up with Gov. Pawlenty's campaign slogan in 140 characters or less.

The Twitterer with the best slogan will receive four tickets to this Saturday's St. Paul Saints game against the Sioux Falls Canaries for "Re-Count Night." Forty Years of "Sesame Street" with everyone's favorite character: The "Re" Count. "Re" Count Giveaway (for the first 2,500 fans) is presented by TDS Metrocom and MinnPost.com.

I really can't come up with an intelligent reason why anyone would want to see Tim Pawlenty become president of the US. Unless of course, you just want to see more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest Americans. I'll tell you what, I just finished reading William Greider's Book "The Education of David Stockman and Other Americans" (c. 1981) and this conservative scorched earth ideology has been around for a long time now; and has driven our country to the brink of collapse. But if you read the book, you'll see that what this really means is that everything is going according to plan. A bankrupt govt. can't function (google "Starve the Beast"). This is what ideolouges like Pawlenty, Strom, Norquist, Palin, Cheney, Bush, Newt, Rush and FOX News loyalists want to have happen. Just look at our tax system, do you really think that it's fair to make the wealthiest Minnesotans pay a lower pct of their income than the poorest? And to take this sick corrupt ideology and hide behind institutions of Faith and Patriotism while the media never really examines the impact is reprehensible. Leadbelly said it best: "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen" and I've seen Paw...Lenty!

But back to slogans:

"Forget the poor, the sick, the unemployed; the disenfranchised... longing to be free."

or

"Humanitarianism is the expression of stupidity and cowardice." A.H. Germany ( of course this campaign 'slogan' was quoted some decades ago and who wants to be called a plagerist on the campaign trail if such a presidential candidate as our good governor is chosen?

I think it's funny that there's already an an "official" Tim Pawlenty for President in 2012 website up at http://pawlenty12.net -- I think Tim Pawlenty will absolutley run for President. But he might not win until 2016.
