Mayor Coleman throws hat in ring for re-election, but does he have another one close at hand?
Seeing St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman's announcement that he's up for a re-election bid in 2009 -- he mentions it in an invitation to his Dec. 15 fundraiser at Mancini's -- reminds me of chatting with the mayor a couple weeks ago and asking if we in the media should be including him in the list of Democrats running for governor in 2010.
Coleman, who's usually quick with a witty response, hesitated, but then a top aide jumped in and said, "Yes."
