Gov. Tim Pawlenty reported in from Israel this morning, where he’s leading a four-day trade mission.

Highlights of the update:

• He spoke with Israeli President Shimon Peres about renewable energy.

• He discussed with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert the state of the U.S. auto industry and the development of electric cars.

Pawlenty and wife, Mary, return home Tuesday.

  1. What an absolute scam. If trade with Israel increased 10x, it would still get lost in the rounding of total trade. If he was worried about trade and not establishing some Middle East credentials for a national political future, he’d be in South Korea or Japan or Poland or about 5 dozen other countries with high volume or possibilities. Utterly transparent.

    And it’s good Minnesota picked up the tab for the wife too. Yesterday’s high temp in Tel Aviv: 70, and that’s with the wind chill.
