Duluth gavel did travel
By Joe Kimball | 01/09/09
Freshman DFL state Rep. Roger Reinert brought a souvenir from Duluth to the state Capitol for the session that opened this week: the gavel from the Duluth City Council chambers.
Reinert is a former Duluth City Council president. He told a Duluth News Tribune reporter: "But I'll replace it, so it's hard to consider myself a thief."
He promises a replacement gavel will be back in the chambers in time for the next council meeting on Monday.
