St. Paul mayoral aide Grewing named 'Up and Coming' attorney

The Pioneer Press "City Hall Scoop" blog notes that Sara Grewing, the chief of staff for St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, has been picked by Minnesota Lawyer magazine as s one of 25 "Up and Coming" new lawyers .
The group is described as "25 distinguished newer lawyers who have done notable work within their first 10 years of practice."
Soon after she took the job with Coleman in 2007, I did a Q and A with Grewing for MinnPost.
Among other things, we learned she'd previously worked for U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, first in the Hennepin County attorney's office, and then on her successful Senate campaign.
And here's how she describes how she got into politics and social justice:
“I caught the bug when I had a fellowship — a glorified internship, really — with Sheila Wellstone during my first year of law school at William Mitchell. She was working on domestic violence and I'd go to shelters with Sheila and really see some of the sad things that were happening. When the fellowship ended, I wondered: What's next? And I thought, I want to prosecute this.”
