By Joe Kimball | 04/17/09
St. Paul School Superintendent Meria Carstarphen was honored Thursday as a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys.
She said her time as a Girl Scout in Selma, Ala., prepared her "by instilling in me the courage and confidence women need to be successful today and in the future."
Good news for the Super: The Girl Scouts of Central Texas also award Women of Distinction honors. Carstarphen starts work as the new Austin, Texas, superintendent July 1.
