Transit funding takes a hit in House bill
By Joe Kimball | 04/27/09
Funding for transit from the state general fund would take a hit in a bill passed Saturday in the House.
The $8.4 million cut over the next two years is for projects in both the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota, said Don Davis of Forum Communications.
The bill also would allow drivers to temporarily exceed the speed limit in a 55 mph zone in order to pass slower-moving cars.

Two very bad ideas in one bill. Discourage transit ridership and encourage aggressive motoring? Well done House of Representatives!
