6th District’s Maureen Reed reports hefty fundraising to battle Bachmann

In Minnesota’s never-ending campaign season, Maureen Reed, who has her sights set on U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann in the 6th Congressional District, is reporting that she’s raised $230,000 in the first eight weeks of her campaign.

Reed, a physician who has served as a member of the University of Minnesota board of regents, was the medical director of HealthPartners. She is seeking both the DFL and Independence Party endorsements.

At this point, Elwyn Tinklenberg, who is cut from the same moderate DFL cloth as Reed, has not announced whether he will attempt to again run against Bachmann, a prolific fundraiser with a national audience.
