Lawyers who’ve been hankering to sit on the other side of the bench — and who live in the 10th Judicial District — can apply for four trial judge seats now open.

Three are in Anoka County and one is in Center City.

The 10 Judicial District consists of Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright counties.

The openings are the result of the retirements of Kenneth L. Jorgensen and David E. Doyscher earlier this year, the death of  Douglas G. Swenson in February and the upcoming retirement of Stephen J. Askew at the end of this month.

Applications are available positions by calling John Hultquist at 651-296-0019, via email at john.hultquist@state.mn.us
or by writing:

Ronald J. Schutz, Chair
Commission on Judicial Selection
130 State Capitol
75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
St. Paul, MN  55155

The Commission on Judicial Selection will evaluate applicants and recommend three to five nominees to the governor, who makes the final selections.
