Ten Commandments monument near Bemidji sprayed with black paint
By Joe Kimball | 07/24/09
Officials are investigating the defacing of a 10 Commandments monument on U.S. Highway 2, about five miles west of Bemidji.
The Beltrami County Sheriff’s office reports spray-painted graffiti on the monument, which was paid for and built by a private party, says the Bemidji Pioneer.
The tablets are on the south side of the highway, just west of the junction with state Highway 89. Both tablets were damaged.
