Lt. Gov. Molnau -- rarely in the public eye -- hits the Fair

We haven't seen or heard too much from Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau lately -- especially since she was removed by the state Senate from her other job as state transportation commissioner in 2008 -- But she's got a full day in the public eye today. At the State Fair.

  • At 9:30 a.m., she was in the Education Building at the fairgrounds to announce an initiative from the National Lieutenant Governors Association, “Your Heart is in Your Hands.” She was re-elected Midwest regional chair of that group in August.
  • 11 a.m. -- at the Leinie's Lodge Bandshell she'll speak at the award ceremony for Minnesota’s “2009 Outstanding Senior Citizens of the Year.”
  • 12:30 p.m. -- she'll be part of a celebrity butter-carving contest.
  • 2 p.m. -- outside the DNR Building, she'll participate in the Birds of Prey show. It might remind her of some of those state Senate hearings.
