Former DFL Rep. Shelley Madore will challenge Kline in 2nd District

Former state Rep. Shelley Madore, a DFLer from Apple Valley, will run for Congress in the 2nd District, challenging four-term incumbent John Kline, a Republican from Lakeville.
The Star Tribune says she disagrees with Kline on transportation, health care and Afghanistan, and that she's assembling a campaign team and looking to officially announce in January.
Madore served two years in the Minnesota House and was narrowly defeated in 2008 by Republican Tara Mack. During her short stint in the Legislature, Madore was considered a strong advocate for people with disabilities; she and husband Paul have two children with disabilities.
The paper notes that DFLer Dan Powers, a building contractor, also has announced he'll run against Kline.
