Rep. Karla Bigham, a two-term DFLer from Cottage Grove, won't seek a third term in the November election.
She told the Pioneer Press that she's thinking about going into law or graduate school.
Bigham represents District 57A, which includes Newport, St. Paul Park and parts of Cottage Grove and South St. Paul. She won earlier elections by wide margins.
She told the paper:
"My focus is on the upcoming legislative session. I will be working on creating jobs for Minnesotans and solving the state's budget deficit. We need to find long-term solutions for the budget problems and create jobs."
