Walz speaks to military officers group in D.C. tonight
By Joe Kimball | 04/21/10
U.S. Rep. Tim Walz speaks tonight to a major meeting of the Military Officers Association of America in Washington, D.C., and will discuss accomplishments made for service members and veterans in the past few years and work that still needs to be accomplished.
The group — which bills itself as the "United States’ largest veterans’ organization for active duty, National Guard, Reserve, former, and retired military officers and their families" — will stream Walz's remarks on its website starting at 7 p.m. Central time.
Walz is much liked by many veterans' groups, because he is the highest-ranking enlisted soldier ever to serve in Congress. He enlisted in the Army National Guard at age 17 and retired 24 years later as command sergeant major.
