Eric Eskola makes history after 26 years at the Capitol

It's Eric Eskola's last day covering political news at the Capitol for WCCO-AM, and he's been there so long that someone from the Minnesota Historical Society was down in the basement press room the other day helping Eric clean out his office, looking for historical treasures.

Eskola, like many reporters, kept lots of stuff and piled it high, and Matt Anderson, the MHS curator, reportedly did find some gems.

No, there weren't any Alexander Ramsey for Governor posters. But there were some campaign buttons from more recent elections.

Eskola will continue his gig on TPT's "Almanac" television show with his wife, Cathy Wurzer.
