Kelliher gets endorsement from GLBT group

House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher has another endorsement in her gubernatorial bid: OutFront Minnesota's political action committee.

The group represents gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) people and their families.

Kelliher was one of four candidates screened by the group. The others were DFLers Mark Dayton and Matt Entenza and endorsed Independence Party candidate Tom Horner.

No surprise: Tom Emmer, the endorsed Republican candidate, didn't try.

"Margaret Anderson Kelliher has been a strong advocate for equality for our community, and will continue to be once she is elected governor," says Said OutFront Minnesota Executive Director Amy Johnson:

"Margaret brings to the table a strong combination of vision, experience, and commitment to making Minnesota stronger, and she views her efforts to achieve GLBT equality, including marriage equality, as an inherent part of that effort.

Kelliher's statement:

"As Governor, I will work to end injustice against all people in our state. And I will fight to deliver on the promise of equal rights for every Minnesotan."
