ECM newspaper publishing group backs Kelliher for governor
By Jay Weiner | 07/28/10
Margaret Anderson Kelliher, the DFL-endorsed candidate for governor, earned a major editorial board endorsement today when ECM Publishers announced its support for her.
ECM was started in 1976 by former Republican Gov. Elmer L. Andersen. ECM operates 15 weekly papers throughout Minnesota reaching more than 140,000 readers weekly.
Kelliher is the "best candidate to make her party’s case in a robust contest with Republican endorsee Tom Emmer and Independence Party endorsee Tom Horner," the newspaper group's editorial board said.

This comes as a big surprise. I would have placed them at the edge of the Emmer camp, ideologically.
It probably reflects Emmer's rough edges and plain
lack of policy savvy, something Meeks was supposed to cover for him.
Meeks who? Out of sight, out of mind.
