Ethics hearing next week on state Sen. Newman's office email
State Sen. Scott Newman will face an ethics hearing Wednesday following a DFL complaint that his office refused a meeting with a nurse's group that had supported his opponent in the November election.
Newman, a Republican from Hutchinson, said he took responsibility for the email but said it was sent by a new staff member and did not reflect his policy about constituent meetings. Newman is serving his first term in the Senate although he'd previously been a state representative.
The hearing will be before the Senate Rules Subcommittee on Ethical Conduct.
