Sen. Amy Klobuchar and U.S. Rep Collin Peterson are touring Red River Valley flood preparations today. With them is  U.S. Sen. John Hoeven of North Dakota.

They’re talking with the Red River Retention Authority and Natural Resource Conservation Service about plans to improve water retention as part of the basin’s overall water management effort.

This afternoon, they’ll meet with volunteers at Fargo’s “Sandbag Central,” where efforts began this week to fill 3 million sandbags needed to stem the rise of the Red.
