Edina schools win Google contest, get billboard

Maybe Duluth didn't win the big Google broadband contest, but the Edina school district won a different Google contest, and has a billboard near I-494 to prove it.

Edina Schools were one of 10 winners of Google's "Gone Google Campaign," which highlighted organizations that have used Google apps to change the way they work. Edina's entry said the district uses Google apps to improve learning and save money.

The billboard says: “Edina Public Schools Have Gone Google."

Other winners, from around the globe, were:

  • 3Tailer (Online Retail) — Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
  • Boise State University (Education) — Boise, Idaho, USA
