GOP legislators get sunny skies for rescheduled fly-around
By Joe Kimball | 04/25/11
Republican legislative leaders planned to fly around the state last Wednesday during the Easter/Passover break, but they were grounded by lousy weather so they postponed their fly-around until today.
Blue skies greeted them this morning as they lifted off on their whirlwind trip to eight cities to push their plan to solve the state deficit without raising taxes.
The GOP team: Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch, House Speaker Kurt Zellers, Deputy Majority Leader Geoff Michel and House Majority Leader Matt Dean took off from St. Paul at 7:30 a.m. At each stop they're hoping to meet with the media during short layovers at area airports.
The rest of the schedule:
- Rochester, 8:45 a..m.
- Mankato, 10:15 a.m.
- St. Cloud, 11:45 a.m.
- Moorhead, 1:30 p.m.
- Bemidji, 3 p.m.
- Alexandria, 4:40 p.m.
- Duluth, 6:30 p.m.
