First lady Michelle Obama will help kick off the 2011 tour of a special “Sesame Street Live” production for military families.
The show opens Thursday in Columbus, Ohio, and will continue to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Korea, Turkey, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Spain.
Michelle Obama and Jill Biden will appear in the first show but won’t continue with the tour.
The show, specially designed for military families, is produced by Vee Corp., the Minneapolis-based company that produces and promotes many family programs. It’s first production was a “Sesame Street Live” show in 1980 at the Metropolitan Sports Center in Bloomington.
