Minneapolis special election will fill Hayden House seat vacancy
By Joe Kimball | 10/27/11
Because state Rep. Jeff Hayden won the Oct. 18 special election for state senator in Minneapolis, voters in his 61B House District will go to the polls to replace him.
Gov. Mark Dayton has set the special election dates: a primary, if needed, will be Dec. 6; the special election will be Jan. 10.
Candidates can file for election until Nov. 2. DFlers plan to consider a nomination in mid-November. Already in the DFL mix are attorney Susan Allen, Nelson Inz, who's been active in party politics, and Josh Bassais, who works for the Minnesota Laborers Union, and Nate Blumenshine.
