Ezekiel Emanuel, a bioethicist and former health care adviser to President Obama, will speak Wednesday at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs about the future and cost of American medicine.
Emmanual is the brother of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanual, a former White House chief of staff.
They're also calling the talk an insider’s view of how the Affordable Care Act will affect the delivery of care. His speech is the annual Deinard Memorial Lecture on Law & Medicine. It will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Cowles Auditorium.
Immediately following will be comments by Stephen Parente, director of the Medical Industry Leadership Institute at the U’s Carlson School of Management.
A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations. There is online registration.
