Cynthia Bauerly, Federal Election commissioner, hired at DEED

Minnesota's Department of Employment and Economic Development has hired Cynthia Bauerly to be the deputy commissioner of Workforce Development.
Bauerly, who grew up in Minnesota, comes from her job as a commissioner of the Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C.
Her resignation from the FEC is effective Feb. 1 and she starts in St. Paul Feb. 25.
State officials say:
Bauerly grew up in Benton County, Minnesota, and worked in her family's road construction business during and after college. She graduated summa cum laude from Concordia College in Moorhead, graduated cum laude from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington, and received a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University's School of Environmental and Public Affairs.
She also previously worked as a lawyer at Fredrikson & Byron in Minneapolis.
