ST. PAUL, Minn. – Jan. 24, 2013– Family members of Michael Brodkorb ask that the media and the public respect their privacy during this time.

For this reason, Regions Hospital will not be releasing any information to the media or public.

Regions Hospital will contact the media with any updated information if it becomes available.
Brodkorb, the embattled former state Senate staffer who was fired after having an affair with former Majority Leader Amy Koch, was injured in a car crash at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday night on I-35E in Mendota Heights.

He was listed in critical condition at the hospital last night, but no condition report was given this morning.

Koch tweeted this morning: "Seems he will be fine. Still out."

Brodkorb, who has sued the state Senate over his firing, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and the State Patrol reported that alcohol use was detected at the scene.
