Three candidates for St. Cloud House seat prepare for Tuesday special election
By Joe Kimball | 02/08/13
The three candidates in Tuesday's special election in state House District 14A made a pitch to voters Friday morning in St. Cloud.
The election will fill the vacancy created when Steve Gottwalt took a lobbying job and resigned his seat after winning the November election.
Says the St. Cloud Times:
- Republican Tama Theis said her small-business experience running a remodeling company helped her understand how to grow private-sector jobs;
- DFLer Joanne Dorsher said her past public service on the St. Cloud School Board gave her knowledge of education, health care and other issues.
- Independence Party’s Todd McKee said he could "represent the people with a clear conscience" because he’s not beholden to a party, [although he is a candidate for the Independence Party of Minnesota] or to special interest groups.
