Two special elections under way for state House seats
By Joe Kimball | 02/12/13
Two special elections are under way today to fill vacancies in two state House seats: 14A in the St. Cloud area and 19A in the North Mankato/St. Peter area.
Beats are open because of resignations; the winners will join the rest of the Legislature in a session that's been going for more than a month already.
Whatever the results, they won't change the DFL's solid majority in the House.
Candidates in 14A are Republican Tama Theis, DFLer Joanne Dorsher and Todd McKee of the Independence Party.
Candidates in 19A are DFLer Clark Johnson, Republican Allen Quist and the Independence Party's Tim Gieseke.
